I worked in india during the year June 2010- May2011 and left for abroad on work after that.
Is it possible for me to file the tax returns now, as there was a deduction of around 40k
I have the TDS details from the form 26as provided by my bank though, I don't have the form 16 with, provided by the employer at that time.

Hi,
First of all please understand that Income Tax department gives you 2 years to file your Income Tax Returns. That means for Income earned from April 2011 to March 2012 you can file your return upto 31st March 2014.
So presently you can file your return for 2011-12 and 2012-13.
Accordingly in your case you can file return for April 2011-May 2011 but you cannot file return from June 2010 to March 2011.
