The most painful thing which happens to a lot of taxpayers now a days is that their refund is cancelled by the Income Tax Department. The reason may be due to wrong address, Wrong Bank A/C, TDS not shown in form 26AS etc. Due to this most of the taxpayers are facing undue hardships and are not able to get the refund which is due to them.
We are going to discuss the methods through which a taxpayer can make a refund reissue request or can change necessary details to get their due refund.
1. REFUND RETURNED DUE TO WRONG BANK DETAILS-
There may be a case where your refund did not reach you do to wrong bank details sent with your return. Due to which Income Tax Department will not be able to send the refund. To correct the above please follow the following procedure:
1. Go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
2. LOGIN to your Account
3. GO TO 'My Account'
4. Refund re-issue request'.
5. Select
the mode through which you wish to receive the refund- ECS or
Cheque. Enter the new Bank Account Number and provide address
details. Submit the request. Once the request is submitted, your
Bank Account Number will be updated.
2. REFUND RETURNED DUE TO WRONG ADDRESS-
Many of the refunds are cancelled due to wrong address or change in address. To get your refund follow these steps:
1. Go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
2. LOGIN to your Account
3. GO TO 'My Account'
4. Refund re-issue request'.
5. Provide the new Address. Submit the request. Once the request is
submitted, your new Address is updated.
If still refund is not generated, make a PAN rectification request.

DeleteYou can get it through the Intimation order under section 143(1), which was sent to you by department on mail and on your address.
Intimation Us 1439(1) is not received for the refund. Refund cheque has not been delivered due to wrong address. what is the solution. We do not have CPC Communication number or Refund sequence number for requesting refund again.

ReplyDeleteI wish to ask you about intimation u/s 143(1) in which i have received demand asking for pay to it. so, here i would like to ask you clarification for further proceedings here details are
Total Tax liability computed as on 31st march 2013 was Rs 50495
out of which tax deposited by tax payer was Rs 50000 on 13/08/2013
and returned filled in November 2013, so here i had calculated int u/s 234A was Rs for 516 i.e.,
495*1%*4 months (Aug'13- Nov'13) = 20 ; 495+20= 515
but as per intimation which we had received int u/s 234A was calculated as Rs. for 2016.
Moreover our calculations u/s 234B&C were matched appx with AO calculations.
I want to ask Why the difference was found for sec 234A for which calculations done by us vis-a-vis intimation 143(1) stat calculation. kindly sugges me on the same

DeletePlease clarify whether it is 2013 or 2014. It cannot be possible that it would take 1 year, call the CPC and ask for the reason. If it is 2014, then wait for 1 month from the date of request.

If you do not have intimation copy, you will have to make its Intimation reissue request and in that you can find CPC and Refund number. I was unable to generate request for INtimation v/s 143(1).It says no intimation order exists for assessment year.What should i do now

Hi Jimbo,
DeletePlease check the address as provided by you in your Income Tax Return. If the address is incorrect, apply the steps mentioned in the post. If the address is correct, then apply the steps as mentioned below:
1. Make a Refund Reissue request and continuously track the status of the same. At the time your cheque is dispatched go to your nearest Post Office and personally collect your post.
2. Alternatively you can get you refund directly into your Bank Account, which is a better option always.

ReplyDeleteDue to incorrect name and a/c no. of refund cheque for A.Y.: 2013-2014 I sent it back to SBI, Mumbai for cancellation and submitted refund re-issue request which get accepted by CPC on 29/06/2014.
Now, in how many days I will/should get corrected refund cheque as CPC is not giving timeframe? Whom shall I approach in this case?

ReplyDeleteI filled return on 23.05.2014 for A.Y 13-14 by Digital Signature where Rs:- 6600 as refund I have to get from ITD but still It shows RETURN UPLOADED in place of return processed option however return gets processed in some days if returned filled through DSC. but its quite a long time since It shows return uploaded in my Accounts option on income tax site...back days I discussed with customer care in ITD he told me your refund is under process will be deposited into your accounts shortly.....I wanna know how long would it take for my refund?????

but Sir, return should have been processed by ITD since it was filed on 23.05.2014 with Digital signature,,,,why r they taking long time, If It was processed I would have asked for Assessment order u/s 143(1)..
