IS 12A AND 80G REGISTRATION MANDATORY FOR NGO'S

Hi,

I am planning to start an ngo (trust). Is it compulsary to go for 80G and 12A registration. legally can I run such organization without taking 80G and 12A registrations ?

Thanks for asking your query. Please get you answer below:

There is no compulsory requirement of  registering under Section 12A and 80G to run your NGO. A registration is required, only if NGO wants to get exemption from the paying tax and also require exemption for their donors.

So you can go on and start your NGO and don't worry its absolutely legal to start a NGO without 12A and 80G registration.
