Is Registration of NGO Compulsory

I am Dharmendra Dubey, I want to open a NGO . Regarding this I have query that registration is compulsory for NGO or not.kindly answer it , It is urgent we are waiting to your valuable revert.

Hi Dharemendra Dubey,

Thanks for posting your query, please get your answer below:

1. No law in force requires a NGO to be compulsorily registered.

2. Its for the betterment of your NGO, that you get it registered. A registered NGO gets various advantages in the form of government schemes, tax exemptions, better recognition, Foreign donation
and so on.

3. I would suggest you to get it registered but in no case the registration is compulsory. You can register it in 3 forms:
  • Society
  • Trust
  • Section 25 Company
